Home Country: Nepal

The Kingdom of Nepal is a landlocked Himalayan country in South Asia, bordered by Tibet to the north and India to the south, east and west. More than 80 percent of Nepalese follow Hinduism, making it the single most Hinduic nation in the world. For a small territory, the Nepalese landscape is very diverse. Nepal boast's eight of the world's fourteen tallest mountains, including Mount Everest on the border with China. Kathmandu is the capital and largest city.

From the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology...

The International Student of the Week for this week is Kaushal Maskey. He is in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology and is currently working on his masters. He is from Dharan, Nepal which is located in Eastern Nepal. He is fluent in English, Nepali and Hindi. Kaushal has three sisters two that live in Dallas and Pennsylvania. His parents work in Nepal along with his other sister.

Kaushal is a member of the Nepalese Student Association and was currently crowned Mr. International at the 18th Mr. and Miss International pageant held by the International Student Organization. In his free time he also enjoys hanging out with his friends, playing soccer and basketball and loves to support OSU football.

He came to the United States because of the better facilities that are offered and to gain knowledge he can take back with him. He received his graduate degree from the Institute of Agricultural and Animal Science in Chitwan Nepal, which is centrally located. He came to Oklahoma State University because it has a great reputation and one of his professors at IAS got his masters here as well.

His future plans include going back to Nepal to serve as an entomologist. He is excited to go back to his home country and spread the wealth of knowledge that he has received here at OSU. He enjoys OSU because it is a quite place and is good for studying.
