From the Department of Agricultural Education...

This week's International Student of the Week is Sineenuch Khrutmuang Sanserm. She is from Bangkok, Thailand and is a graduate student in Agricultural Education and is working towards her PhD in Agricultural Education with an emphasis in Extension Education.
Sineenuch is the secretary of the Thai Student Association and is the treasurer of the Agricultural Education Graduate Student Association. She has also assisted with the recent graduate student study program for graduate students from Maejo University in Thailand.
In her free time she enjoys surfing the internet, traveling, knitting and sewing. She is also doing volunteer work for the Volunteer Center, this gives her a great opportunity to learn about American life and meet new people.
Sineenuch came to Oklahoma State University because the Department of Agricultural Education, Communications, and 4-H Youth Development are well known here at OSU and in the field of Agriculture which is related to her back ground. Also four presidents of four different universities in Thailand graduated from OSU, two of them graduated from Agricultural Education.
Sineenuch has been married for two years now and has two younger sisters who live in Chiang Mai Province. One sister is a lecturer at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University and the youngest is a graduate student at Chiang Mai University. Her parents live in Uttaradit province in the north region of Thailand.
Her future plans include going back to Thailand to continue her career as Associate Professor at School of Agricultural and Cooperatives, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University. Since she received a scholarship to attend OSU from her university, she plans to go back and use the knowledge she gained at OSU to teach undergraduate and graduate students and to conduct research.
She said it is very important as an international student to study hard, but to divide your time in order to learn as much as you can about American culture. “This time is a great opportunity to learn about the United States and make new friends. I think students should be involved in many activities that are provided by the university such as ISS, or any other organization or club. By being involved you will be open-minded and will gain more life experience,” said Sineenuch.
