On January 15th, 2009, Dr. Henneberry met with Major Doug Christerson and LTC Cynthia Tinkham to discuss the training program for June 2009. The dates were set at May31-June 6, 2009. The location will be the Oklahoma State University Campus. Thirty single rooms have been reserved for housing in Kerr-Drummond and lectures will be conducted in a nearby classroom facility yet to be assigned. Detailed discussions were held regarding the training itinereary, which is currently under development.
On December 16th, 2008 Col. Martin Leppert made a presentation to the Oklahoma National Guard regarding their deployment and the Agribusiness Development Team Mission in Afghanistan starting in late 2009. Dr. Henneberry made a presentation following that on OSU's potential role in pre-departure training and ongoing technical support for the agribusiness development portion of the mission.
On December 10, 2008 Col. Mike Chase and Major Christian visited OSU and met with Dr. Mike Dicks in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Dr. David Henneberry, Director of International Agricultural Programs. The purpose of their visit to OSU was to investigate the possibilities for agribusiness development training and support in relation to their upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. Dr. Henneberry was invited to meet with the Oklahoma National Guard in Oklahoma City on December 16, 2008.
